Fighting myself sucks

I'm ready... Trucks loaded... but here I sit waiting for the moment when my impetus pushes me out the door. Hate this aspect of myself.

wouldnt be suprised if I sit here for days now.. maybe sunday morning, when all the others that have been north for the weekend are coming home, I will head out and not have as many folks to deal with as I head out as opposed to a friday.

I've decided

That I need a bigger truck!!! Maybe an 18 wheeler would have enough room for all the things I'm trying to load ...

Ok, on the serious side.. I have to much stuff.. I've pared down alot, but I still have to much stuff.. I feel like I'm on a deadline internally, so what I can load I load.. it's gonna be way to crowded, but then I can go through things when I'm out and get rid of more to give me room.. I hate the packrat side of me sometimes.. but taking it one step at a time.

the Alan Parsons Project, Days are Numbers

The traveller is always leaving town
He never has the time to turn around
And if the road he's taken isn't leading anywhere
He seems to be completely unaware
The traveller is always leaving home
The only kind of life he's ever known
When every moment seems to be
A race against the time
There's always one more mountain left to climb

Days are numbers
Watch the stars
We can only see so far
You'll know where you are
Days are numbers
Count the stars
We can only go so far
One day
You'll know where you are

The traveller awaits the morning tide
He doesn't know what's on the other side
But something deep inside of him
Keeps telling him to go
He hasn't found a reason to say no
The traveller is only passing through
He cannot understand your point of view
Abandoning reality, unsure of what he'll find
The traveller in me is close behind

Days are numbers
Watch the stars
We can only see so far
You'll know where you are
Days are numbers
Count the stars
We can only go so far
One day
You'll know where you are

Procrastination bites me again...

haven't accomplished much this week so far.. so guessing I will be here through the weekend and hit the road on Monday with the majority of folks going back to work. give me some peace and quiet out in the world :)

have compacted a few containers to lessen the amount I'm taking, have begun the breaking down of all the computer gear, segregating the remaining items in the house and will call to arrange pickup by a charity of the remaining items.

tired this morning and don't wanna play :)

belated update

Got the screen sewn, and in place in the back of the truck, Tore out the bed from my home and put it in the truck as well. figure I'll be on the road within a week!! both excited and apprehensive about that. Hopefully Goblin(black manx) will be fine with a life on the road, I have no doubt that Tori(black mutt) will adjust fine :)

Bed platform in place!

and it even supports my weight... used 2X4's and 4X4's and 3/4 inch plywood. it sits 4' over the floor of the truck, with the motorcycle beneath it. have it hinged in the center so that I can lift the rear portion of it and allow me to get on the bike to remove it from the truck, or to load it. looks like it's gonna work well :)

700am.. I had forgotten what it's like to get up this early!! And to think 430 was normal for me..

Only supposed to be 105 today, guess I need to get out there while it's still cool.

John called me up yesterday, if he can get away from work wants to head out when I do for a day or so in the wild. put off answering for now because I dont have a firm day for departure. dont know if it would be more or less stressfull with someone else around on my debut night out. he was thinking taking both trucks for a dry run, I informed him that once I go, I wont be burning the gas to return.

Ongoing projects

1. Mount bed platform -Done-
a) determine mid cut point to enable the lower section to be lifted to get bike out -check-
b) set up lag screws, or other form of removable hookup for that section. -done-
2. finish packing kitchen items that will go
a) take kitchen items to truck
b) assemble remaining food items to be moved into truck
3. Finish enclosing clothes rack in truck for dust control
a) take suits and other dress clothes to truck
4. Assemble remaining house items to be distributed to family, friends, charity

So tired of speed bumps... after mounting the support beams for the bed yesterday, went out to park the truck and in the few moments I was moving it, it stalled twice.. my stress level went through the roof of course. and then laid there all night wondering if it was going to be a problem and how much it was going to cost me.. that too builds the stress.. by morning i was feeling pretty hopeless.. why do I keep trying when the simplest little thing can come along and kill all forward momentum so easily.

this morning (well, was almost 11, but I got up at 10) I jumped in the truck and made the 19 mile run to Casa Grande Az, to the Home Depot for the plywood for the bed (box spring, or what will serve as one) Truck ran fine. When I have it backed up to my garage, the truck sits on an incline, and I think thats what caused momentary problems with the fuel delivery causing the truck to stall. Or so I hope!! anyway.. no problem with it at the moment, my stress level is still higher than it should be but I'm managing, and can probably finish up the bed tomorrow.. to dang hot out there now.
